Weight Loss the Healthy Way – How Can a Low GI Diet Help?

Over the years many fad diets have come and gone, most of them having short-lived results or detrimental effects on general health.  There is one diet that has stood the test of time and is a sensible eating program that allows you to achieve  weight loss the healthy way.  This is the Low GI diet.

 GI stands for Glycemic Index and in simple terms, is a measure of  food in your blood sugar.  Foods with a high GI index (such as white breads, sweets, chips etc.)  are converted quickly into glucose and foods with a low GI index (such as breads with grains, nuts and seeds, vegetables and fruit) are converted slowly.

 If high levels of glucose enter the bloodstream the body panics and therefore releases too much insulin which can lead to weight gain.  If this happens too often the cells that normally respond to glucose become resistant to its signals and can lead to many health problems.

The Slim Girls Box of Secrets Review

I first heard about The Slim Girls Box of Secrets after reading an article in a popular womans magazine.   The magazine had a feature on Mica Paris who had worked with Ali Campbell, the life coach who is the brainchild behind the product. She tells how Ali reset her minds relationship with food so that she did not want to eat so much and therefore was able to easily lose weight.

It all sounded pretty good to me so I headed straight over to the website to check it out.  I liked what I saw and read so decided to order my box.

 My package duly arrived within 48 hours as promised and I couldn’t wait to get into it – it was beautifully presented, just like receiving a special present to myself.  Inside my box of secrets I found a 200 page book, 2 DVDs, 2 CDs and a style kit, all of high quality and looking very impressive.

 I started off by reading the book written by Ali Campbell.  Ali is a Hypnotherapist, an NLP expert, a Master Personal Trainer and Life Coach who has worked with Royalty and many celebrities and was taught by the legendary Paul McKenna.  The book is written in Ali’s own conversational style and he comes across as a warm and caring personality who makes it very easy for you to relate to.

 The book is very easy to read and contains an undercurrent of hypnotic language which I found had an immediate effect on how I was thinking about food.  I quickly came to realise that this was not just another diet book, but something really life-changing if I was prepared to let it be.

 I next settled myself down to have a listen to the mind-reprogramming CD.  This lasted for about 30 minutes and is wonderfully relaxing as you listen to Ali’s voice lulling you into trance and taking in all of the carefully arranged psychological suggestions designed to act on the subconscious mind which will quickly change your relationship with food forever.  You are fully conscious throughout the CD, just very relaxed and receptive to what is being said.  Afterwards I felt very chilled out, but wasn’t sure how it would help me to lose weight – maybe after a few more sessions, you are supposed to listen to it every day for maximum effect.

 My next step was to have a look at the Life-Coaching DVD.  This shows Ali working with a real client and shows some key techniques that you can use to eliminate cravings, reset your feelings of balance and well-being and switch off your desires for ‘must have’ foods.  It was certainly enlightening to see live how some of the techniques that Ali uses really work on a real person and how cravings for a particular food can be stopped instantly -  seeing is believing!

 The “Do it For Yourself “ CD was next.  This guides you through the techniques that are highlighted in the book, such as a tapping technique whereby you tap with your fingertips on various parts of your head and wrists which takes away an immediate craving for something fattening.  I tried this for myself next time I got an uncontrollable urge to eat chocolate and it does actually work, though the technique does take a bit of mastering.  You need to practise it a few times and try and learn the sequence without having to refer to the CD or the book or the effect is easily lost.

 Next came the fitness DVD.  This claims to be designed for people who don’t like exercise – so for me, that had instant appeal!  It starts off with a simple warm-up, which is pretty effective and quite low-effort, then some toning -up moves and a fat-burning work-out, ending with a relaxing and calming cool-down.  This can all be done in the comfort of your own home without having to go to the gym and is specially developed to raise your metabolic rate which is essential for fat-burning.

Like all exercise programs, this obviously needs a certain amount of dedication as you need to go through it most days for best effect, but it was easy to follow – you just need to stay motivated to keep at it.

 Finally, the Style Kit.  It contains a colour analysis chart and information on how to choose the right hairstyle for your face shape. This is a nice touch, but I’m not sure that it is entirely necessary to be included in a weight loss package.  Nonetheless it is helpful if you want a new look to go with your new slim body.

 Once you have bought your box you also have access to a members page on the website where you will have access to community support, forums, tele-classes, videos, audios etc.

 Well, what is my overall opinion?  I think it has the potential to change many peoples’ lives forever.  So many people fall into the yo-yo dieting trap and never achieve their weight loss goals.  By following The Slim Girls Box of Secrets program you can break that cycle once and for all and become the slim person you have always wanted to be.  Obviously it is not completely “effortless” as stated on the website as you do need to put in time every day to listen to the CD, learn the techniques and follow the exercise program, but it is not hard work and if you really want to lose weight it should not be that difficult to fit it all in – it would surely be worth the effort. 

 As for the claims that you can lose 14lbs in one month, as Ali claims on the website – maybe!  Perhaps not everyone will be able to achieve this, but I’m sure that it is a realistic goal for many people if the program is followed carefully.

 I would definitely recommend The Slim Girls Box of Secrets without hesitation, it’s a very high quality product, well-thought out and well put together with very few negative points, it is certainly worth a try.  The price is pretty reasonable too, when you consider that it should be the only weight loss product you’ll ever need for the rest of your life – it’s a complete new you in a box!
